Weekend
workshops for adults, providing an opportunity to get away for a
weekend to dance in pleasant surroundings.
Previous settings have been at Romiley Forum near Stockport and University College Bretton Hall, in Wakefield in the grounds of Yorkshire Sculpture Park. These workshops are intended for beginners and people who want a refresher. Participants generally come from all over the country and from very varied backgrounds. The participants come as individuals with varied interests or goals, such as the desire to gain workshop skills or to improve their fitness. In the past we have had people from diverse professional backgrounds; physiotherapists, performing arts teachers, care or support workers, somatic therapists, dance students, professional dance practitioners, and people on benefits. There are no criteria for enrolment for participants, simply an interest in having "a go", to discover more about our methods and processes and how to apply them in practise.

In 2005 we re-launched our summer workshop weekends with great success. These take place Waterside Arts and there is a range of accommodation in local B & Bs or the youth hostel, we also draw participants from within travelling distance. We enjoyed two very full weekends with a range of ages and experience but the results were so positive that the participants requested a week long residency next summer as an additional option.
